Head to the far south western corner of New South Wales to Mungo National Park and you’ll feel like a time traveller. This archaeological wonderland is located 110 km from Mildura and can be accessed via road, plane or helicopter.

Which road to take into Mungo National Park?
There are four main approaches, to Mungo National Park, each involving travelling on unsealed roads. Whilst a four wheel drive vehicle is recommended for the rough and sandy stretches,
a family sedan is okay if care is taken.
The roads heading towards Mungo from the north - from either Broken Hill and Menindee via Pooncarie, or from Wilcannia via Ivanhoe - are the more difficult but interesting, while from the
south Mildura and Balranald are only just over 110km away
There is no petrol available at Mungo National Park so please be sure to fill your tanks before your arrival.
